Wing Commander Academy

After it was a series of mediocre video games but before it was a god-awful piece of cheap sci-fi tripe starring hack-movie staple Matthew Lillard, the Wing Commander franchise parlayed its popularity into this animated children’s cartoon. Set in a future where humans in space fighters must battle an invading race of bipedal felines for survival, the Wing Commander Academy was where Earth’s future pilots were trained--often getting some “hands on” training along the way when they must blow the hell out of some alien bastards. The unimaginative and short-lived series featured the voices of such sci-fi has-beens as Mark Hamill and Michael Dorn, as well as Malcolm McDowell and the decidedly MILFy Dana Delaney. The little China Beach girl may not have lasted long in outer space, but down here on Earth she’s done fine by humanity by showing us her milk-duds in Live Nude Girls. Her crowning achievement to nudity, however, was a little flick called Exit to Eden, which is well worth watching --so long as you can stand to sit through ‘two tons of fun’ Dan Akroyd and Rosie O’Donnell to get to the good parts. Wait a second, Rosie’s in this flick? Hmm, better make that three tons.
