Review

Based on the often-filmed novel by Alexandre Dumas, The Three Musketeers (1973) features Michael York as young D'Artagnan, who comes to Paris to become one of the king’s musketeers. He proceeds to the bar the musketeers frequent, and without knowing who they are, he begins to quarrel (separately) with “The Three Inseparables,” Athos (Oliver Reed), Porthos (Frank Finlay), and Aramis (Richard Chamberlain), ending up with appointments to duel all three. Eventually he befriends the three men and, after a series of adventures, joins them to become the fourth inseparable. There’s no nudity here, but Raquel Welch, who plays the Queen’s seamstress Constance de Bonancieux, shows off the tops of her bust-keteers in a low-cut blouse. All for one, one for all, and a million dollars to see those two!
