Secret Ceremony (1968)

The psychological thriller Secret Ceremony (1968) is focused on a folie à deux consisting of Leonora (Elizabeth Taylor), a prostitute whose daughter has drowned, and Cenci (Mia Farrow), a mentally unstable girl whose mother has died. Both women are suffering from the delusion that they are mother and daughter, but when Cenci’s stepfather, Albert (Robert Mitchum), whose molestation of her may be the cause of her mental illness, intrudes on the duo, the situation begins to spiral out of control. There’s no nudity here, but Elizabeth and Mia’s heart-to-heart in the Jacuzzi will have you stroking your National Velvet.
