German director Philipp Kadelbach toys with audience expectation in the deceptive short thriller Platonische Liebe (1999). Unfolding at an isolated house on the edge of a dark forest, the film follows a pretty young woman--an only child whose parents are vacationing in the Caribbean--as she experiences an unusual and frightening series of events. Luise Bähr plays the knockout heroine who passes the time by covering her bare breasts with whipped cream in a scene that’s finger lickin’ good.
