Midnight Blue (2005)

Midnight Blue: The Deep Throat Special Edition (2005) is the inaugural DVD in an ongoing series preserving the greatest moments of the legendary New York City public access show Midnight Blue, the brainchild of infamous smutmonger Al Goldstein. This disc offers up a ribald medley of mammaries and memories spanning 1975 to 1987 surrounding the consummate ‘70s blue movie Deep Throat (1972). In addition to interviews with the usual suspects (star Harry Reems, director Gerard Damiano), we’re treated to a few eye-opening surprises, such as a chat with Chuck Traynor (Deep Throat star Linda Lovelace’s erstwhile manager/husband/abuser) and a visit with former porn princess and true animal lover Carol Connors, who whips off her nurse’s costume to dole out a little TLC via her BBBs. What a way to delve deeper into the movie that put the “semen” in “seminal”!
