She played a lesbian surgeon in training on Emily Owens M.D. (2012), and fans have been wanting to play doctor with her ever since. Born on September 29, 1981, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Kelly was bitten by the acting bug when she was in fourth grade and made her onstage debut in her sixth grade school musical. When Kelly turned seventeen, she moved to the Big Apple, where she studied acting at Barnard College and appeared in a few plays. She also spent a semester at the British American Drama Academy in London. Though she appeared clothed in a few episodes of Scandal (2013), her most scandalous performance would come from her stint on Grey's Anatomy (2005).
