A friend of Julie Clarke’s encouraged her to join a swimsuit contest when she was a nubile eighteen years old. Guess what? She won! She ended up first runner-up at the national finals for the Venus Swimwear Model Search, where an enterprising photographer asked if she’d be interested in posing for Playboy. She was named Miss March 1991 and got to hang out at the fabled Playboy mansion. She shot some Playboy-related video, but her dreams of being a fashion model fell short because of her stature--she’s only five-feet-five-inches tall. She ended up on TV commercials for Ford, Toyota, and Disney World--no wonder they call it the happiest place on earth! Julie only appeared in one mainstream film, the softcore Can It Be Love (1992), also known as Spring Break Sorority Girls.
