Biography

Bunny Ware shared her wares on screen, and Mr. Skin couldn’t be hoppier. (He had to do it—there was just so much temptation.) The lady only had four credits for her on-screen resume, beginning as Sally Lane in Strange Rampage (1967), a sexploitation gem that has Bunny in love with a fiberglass mannequin. Her second credit was the serial-killer flick Mundo depravados (1967), or “world of the depraved,” as the poster reads. That same poster also says it’s a “sinerama of sex,” “wild, wanton, exotic,” and “a sexperiment in murder.” Next up is Bunny’s role as Polly in the hippified sex comedy My Third Wife George (1968), where she indulges in a threesome, shows off her personal assets, and twirls panties on her finger. Her final film was playing a model in the fright-fest Scream, Baby, Scream (1969), a “freaked out horror-thriller that will really shock it to you!” as the poster touts. Away from the cameras, Bunny was a successful burlesque dancer. When she was booked at the Stardust Club in St. Louis, she was arrested six times for presenting “a lewd and indecent act,” an accusation she says is not true—there was nothing lewd about it. The dancer actually wound up suing the police in an effort to stop them from arresting her, citing “unreasonable invasion of property.” Seems that every time they arrested her, they took her costume as evidence and wouldn’t give it back. She had to sew up a new one before each performance. Now that’s dedication.
