All to Play For (2023)

Virginie Efira is Sylvie, a struggling single mother of two, Sofiane (Alexis Tonetti) and Jean-Jacques (Félix Lefebvre). Sylvie works behind a bar at night to help make ends meet, often leaving her children home alone. One night, the youngest, Sofiane, is hungry and decides to make fries, which results in a fire that gives him second-degree burns on his chest. After the oldest, Jean-Jacques, rushes him to the hospital, the police arrive at the bar to inform Sylvie of what happened. Though friends write letters of support about how good a mother Sylvie is, eventually a social worker for welfare services named Madame Henry (India Hair) takes Sofiane away into foster care despite him desperately not wanting to go. Sylvie then spends the rest of the film battling the bureaucracy to prove she’s not an unfit mother and get her son back. Virginie even goes so far as to flash her funbags during a tussle so we can see just how fit she is!
